TIMARU WOOL SALE
PRICES UP ON WANGANUI
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
TIMARU, This Day.
The third and final wool sale of the season in Tinia.ru was held this morning, when a catalogue of 3381 bales was offered to a representative bench of buyers. Competition was keen among the Bradford, and Continental operators, and the prices ruling were- from id to Jd up for halfbreds, and from _|d to id up for crossbreds on those which prevailed at the recent Wanganui sale. Compared with the last Timaru sale, however, there was a slight drop in prices. Although the sale was the cleaning up of one for the season, the catalogue was much smaller than has been the case in the past. The catalogue was a very representative one and included a fair quantity of merinos. These, however, were ordinary. In fact, the quality generally speaking, was shabby.
The figures for halfbreds were Id to Id. less than those obtained at the last sale, while those for crossbreds were easier by id to id.
