All skippers are asked to note that caVli competing boat must bear its registened. number, as starting will be on the Mark Foy system, and numbers will be used iin lieu of flags. The Kegatta Committee is emphatic that this ruling must bo complied with. ■ : .. _

In making provision for the outboard motor-boats, the committee was. handicapped by the absence of information from the Outboard Motor-boat Club. The club has now agreed to co-operate, and other races will probably be/set down. Port Nicholson Club. The system of starting the first/and second-class boats together at 3 p.m. has made tlio racing more spectacular. Two of the main events on the club's programme, the races for the Turnbull Cup (first-class) and . Bothamley Cuj (second-class), were decided on Satur clay in a 'good southerly breeze. ' Th Marangi led the Turnbull Cup -/field throughout tho race, and showed a return to her old form. She retained first place when the times were adjusted, her win being a most popular one. The conditions; suited her admirably. The Viola was second. . '')'■ The1 Bothamley Cup went, to ;the Windward, which had the liberal' Handicap of Omin. Sho rounded the Soiucs Island buoy . first, closely followed by. the Galatea, Nanette, and Linnet,-with the Shamrock, Rawcne, and Ires strung out. These positions were unchanged during the rest of the race. The Windward finished 4min ahead of the Galatea, but the latter had to give way to the Linnet on corrected times. The Galatea is the winner of the:sec-ond-class championship pennant, and the Linnet wins the aggregate. . In the carlv stages of the Turnbull Cup race, tho Bona appdared to be doing well, but she fell behind when the wind dropped.''" She would probably /have been more successful had she, carried her spinnaker on the run To Koro Koro. ■-/-•. ■ This afternoon the club's .racing programme will be cone hided, with the Maxwell Eating Cup event for: firstclass boats, and a re-sail of the 18fb and under class race for the Grey. Cup, postponed from December • owing to heavy weather. , Worser Bay Club. A light southerly was the wind on Saturday for the race for the Spiers trophy. The five Takapunas' took part, "and the finish was very .close, four boats crossing the line within under two minutes of each other. ■': The Spitfire was first away with 74min, and it was only on the last buoy that she was passed". No doubt this would not have occurred had sho not met with trouble, which held her up for some valuable seconds. The Kakariki , and the Ngaru were next away with .3Jniin each. The wind did not suit / ythe former, but the handicap she received was disappointingly small. The Ngaru proved much more stubburn for; the Ngaroma than did the Kakariki,.' but she was passed about half-way through the race, and was unable to catch the Spitfire. The Ngaroma, which has recently been overhauled, was -well handled, and finished first, with Spitfire second and the Ngamutu third. The ideal weather on Sutiday provided 'a good opportunity for running off the ladies' race. Thero wore.eight, entrants, and the raco was sailed off with four boats in two licats. The course was a very short one,.and auxiliary sails were dispensed with. Miss N. Griffin won her heat in the Ngaroma, and Miss M. Sloan was second in- the Ngamutu. The first and second in each heat participated in tho final, which resulted in Miss M. S'ionn being first in the Kakariki and Miss Griffin-sec-ond, and a close second at that. Taking into account the experience of the skippers in this race, it can. welf.be said that the handling of the boats . was quite god in some cases. Worser Bar boats' are now being prepared for Par.emata racing at Easter, and.the whole five Takapunas are going to the regatta there. '
