LONDON, Ist October. British revenuq for the half-year ended 30th September was £284,056,----000, which is an increase of £4,844,000 compared with the corresponding period of last year. The expenditure was £334,918,000, an increase of £9,661,----000. Receipts from income tax increased £2,328,000; Customs increased £2,----121,000, and excise decreased £3.522,----000.
A British Official Wireless message of the samo date gives different figures, emphasising the buoyancy of the revenue, which is given at £317,724,000 in tho aggregate, showing'an increase of £5,298,000 on the corresponding period of last year, whereas a decline of nearly £10,000,000 was anticipated on the full year's figures.. The expenditure shows an increase of less than £1,500 - 000. , ' '
