DEFEATED AT THE POLLS
(By Telegraph.-Press Association.! AUCKLAND, This Day. Mr. J. A. Callum, chairman of the Transport Board, who was defeated in the City Council election, has written to the Mayor resigning his position, but leaving himself unreservedly in the hands of the council. He slated that his personal inclination was to resign immediately, but at this juncture he did not wish to embarrass tho board.
