PRISONERS IN GAOL
Australian Press Auoclitlon. NEW YOKE, 2nd May. News from Columbus, Ohio, states that two prisoners were killed and six injured—three seriously—when a tornado struck the city gaol to-day. Prisoners were trapped in their bunks when a, twister crushed a wall about thorn. Varying reports to-night from Gate City, ■Virginia, state tli.it between fifty and eighty bodies of children have been removed from the wreckage of Rye Cove High School, which was demolished by a tornado. The- rescuers are working frantically to extricate some 250 children and teachers from, the ruins piled above them. Later reports now indicate that 12 children are known to be dead and 90 injured.
