SOMETHING TO MAKE.
Here's a jolly thing to make, ana it's not a bit hard. Cut a round piece of cardboard, which measures about 4in across. Now paint half of this black and mark the other half with curved lines as you see in tho picture. Push a short length of pencil through a holo in the centre of the round of cardboard to act as a peg for the top. Now spin the top on p. smooth surface and you will see a very curious effect. The outer part of the top will seem to be greenish blue, next there will be a band of yellowish colour, while at the_ centre the colour will bo rod The brightest colours are seen when the top is spinning in a strong light and going round very quickly.
