RELIGIOUS SERVICES. I" 0.0.P. HALL, 19. LOWER. TORY *■' STREET. A course of Free Public Addresses ii now being delivered in the above Hall ou SUNDAY EVENINGS at 7 o'clock (God willing), under the title of "TURNED UNTO FABLES." ''The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine . . . they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned into fables." (Paul, 2-Tim. 4:3-4.) The subject for this Sunday is '■THK DOCTRINE OF THE IMMOR. TALITY OK THE SOUL-A FABLE" CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:— "The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the BREATH of life, and man became a LIVING SOUL." (Gen. 2:7 ) DO YOU KNOW that the Hebrew for breath is "neshf.mah," and for "Soul" is "nephesh," and that both these word« are applied indiscriminately in the Scrip, tures to the HUMAN and ANIMAL creation. Therefore if the "breath" (spirit) or "soul" be the immortal soul of orthodox teaching animals also possess immortal souls! BUT THE SCRIPTURES TEACH.— (1) THAT SOULS DIE (Eze. 18:4, Psa. 75:50, Job 7:15, in the next two passages "nephesh" is translated "me," Judges* 16:30 (Numb. 23:10, see margin). (2) THAT SOULS ARE DESTROYED (Josh. 11:11, Kze. 22:27, Acts 3:23, etc.). (3) THAT SOULS ARE BORN (Gen 46: IS, Gen. 46:26, Ex. 1:5). (4) THAT SOULS EAT AND DRINK (Dent. 12:20, Lev. 17:10, Lev. 7:20 ">5 27, etc.). THE FOREGOING confirms the truth THAT man is mortal (Job. 4:17, Roms 5:12, 1 Cor. 15:53), THAT Eternal Life is a gift (Roms. 6:23), BEING a matter of PROMISE (1 John 2:25) and HOPE (Titus 1:2, Titus 3:7, Roms. 8:24-25), WHICH must be sought for (Roms. 2:7) and IF ATTAINED will be bestowed at the Resurrection of the dead (Dan: 12:2, John 5:28-29, 1 Cor. 15) AND enjoyed ou the Earth (Matt. 5:5, Rev. 5:10, Psa. 37:9, Psa. 37:11, Prov. 11:31, Dan. 7:27).
