Gisbornc Giis Company directors report that "the results obtained by the last years working have been very satisfactory, and there is good reason to believe that a continuance ot same may be looked for." After careful consideration the directors propose, subject to the approval of the shareholders, to enter into a contract for the erection of a setting of Glover-West vertical retorts, which will give us a thoroughly up-to-date generating plant, and should materially assist in the further progress of the company. An extraordinary demand lor cooking i-(oves was experienced during the yciir. A large number of consumers availed themselves of the attractive hiru-pm-ehase system to secure these stoves. An interim dividend of 6d per shave, on the ordinary shares, .-ibsorbing £\:\Sii Is, h;\s already. been paid. After £11SO has been written off for depreciation, a balance of £3306 0s ]d is available for distribution. The directors recommend payment of a further dividend of Cd per share on ordinary shares, and to credit general reserve account with £470 lfls Id, and to carry forward the balance of £1500. Tho retiring directors are Messrs. fi. J. Chrisp, W. H. Chrisp, and M. P. Poole, who offer themselves for reelection.
