PERSONAL.
Captain J. 1.. Brisco is relieving Captain .T. Stewart as master of the Kowhai this week. The latter is being granted holiday leave. The Kaitoko was placed In commission at Auckland recently, aud is in command of Captain J.- G. Watson. His deck officers are:—Chief, Mr. P. E. Ryan; second, JJr. ,W. Keiioc; third, Mr. D. J. Rutter. Mr. T. S. M'Nicol lias rejoined the Maori as chief officer' after holidays, • and Mr. N. B. W. llaszard has been transferred to the Karetu in a similar capacity, relieving Mr. F. G. Mabb for instructions. Mr. H. Abernethy lias been appointed third officer of the Waltemata, relieving Mr. J. M'Neil for holidays. Messrs. L: G. Ramsay and D. A. Menlove, chief and -third officers respectively of the Koranul, are on holidays at Sydney. Their places,have been taken by Messrs. R. Duncan and A. W. Carnic. Captain A. W. Creese has relieved Captain T. B. Robertson, of tlio Ngakuta, for holidays. Captain Duncan M'Donald and Captain E. ITarris have botli completed their holidays and aro awaiting orders at Wellington arid Sydney respectively. Mr. D.. W. Blacklaws has been appointed acting second officer of the Karctu, relieving Mr. .I.E. Clements, who has resigned from the company.
