LODGE FUNDS STOLEN

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, 16th November. ! Two charges of stealing a total of £30, belonging to the Auckland City Lodge of the Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, were admitted at the Police Court by Charles Gordon Lindsay, a clerk, aged 34. Chief-Detective Hammond said Lindsay had been acting as secretary, and had collected the money, which he converted to his own use. He had never been in trouble -previously. Counsel said that Lindsay, who was married, had been out of work for some time. No doubt, this led to his taking the funds. It was a case for probation, subject to accused making restitution. The Magistrate remanded accused until to-morrow for sentence, for the purpose of obtaining a report from the Probation Officer. ______________
