FIFTY YEARS' SERVICE

Mr. F. F. M'Bryde, manager for Now Zealand of the A.M.P. Society, completed 50 years' service with the society on Saturday last, when he received many messages of congratulation from the branches of the society in Australia and from the staff all over New Zealand. His room was beautifully decorated with spring flowers by the iady members of the staff, and during the morning Mrs. M'Bryde was presented with a bouquet. The staff entertained Mr. and Mis. M'Bryde at a social gathering, which was held last evening in the staff recreatioitI'oom iv the new building, when a very pleasant time was spent in games, music, and dancing, supper being provided by the ladies of tho stall. During the evening Mr. A. do B. Brandon (chairman of directors) presented Mr. M'Bryde on behalf of the New Zealand staff, with a handsome pair of fieMgiass-es and Mrs. M'Bryde with a silver fruit dMi, which bore a suitable engraving. In making the presentation Mr. Brandon referred to the unique occasion and spoke of Mr. M'Bryde's splendid business qualities, which had made his long connection with the society such a successful and honourable one. Mr. M'Bryde feelingly'replied, thanking JMr. Brandon and all present for the gifts ami good wishes.

The Wellington Fire Brig-fido lias received a letter of appreciation for services rendered at the firu at ]);i.vul M-'Crao's, Ltd., on Saturday. A donation of £2 2s was made to the brigade's recreation fund.
