CHINESE CONSUL
FUNERAL SERVICE There was a largo attendance at the funeral of the late Mr. Li Kwang Heng, Chinese Consul, which took /place yesterday afternoon; at the Karori Cemetery. The preliminary service at St. Peter's Mission Hall.was conducted by the Rev. T.F. Taylor and the lv»v. £. Mackenzie, Anglican Mxsswner to tuo Chinese. The, former read the bnfel'M imrial service, and the latter road in Chinese some Scriptural passages, Ilic service at the crematorium was conducted by the Rev. N. Messages of "'condolence from all over Now Zealand have been received by the widow of the deceased, including ones from the Prime...' Minister (Right Hon. J. G. Coatcs), the ActingMinister of Internal Affairs (Sir Mam Pomare), Canon Mutter, of Christchurch, dan from Mr/Ei J. Hyams (Consul for Czecho-Slovakia). The message received by the widow from thi Prim* Minister is as follows: —"The. New Zealand Government have.learned with deep regret of the death of your husband the Hon. Li Kwang Heug, Consul for China,'and'on' behalf of-; my colleagues and myself I'send you' an,expression of our sincere sympathy-in your sad bereavement." , Many floral, emblems' Were; received, among those who forwarded wreaths being the Wellington Consular Corps, His Majesty's Trade Commissioner and staff, the congregation of. the Anglican Chinese Mission, the Tong Jang Association, the Chinese Masonic Society, and the Rev. and Mrs. T. F. Taylor.
