WELLINGTON TRAMWAY BAND.

The third recital of the' Wellington Tramways Band, given last night at His Majesty's Theatre, was a great success. Tiie theatre was packed and the audience was treated to a tine programme. Mrs. M. Thomas gave two very line items which were Well received, "Swan-, dalaya" and "Tho Green Eye of the Yellow God." Miss Amy Eaton, a young soprano, who is making her intial appearance at these recitals, created a wonderful impression with her fine renditions. She will be a welcome addition to the vocal ranks in Wellington. Her items were "Poor Wandering One," "Scenes that are Brightest," and "The 'Wren." Miss Nora Green also gave one of her fine performances, and was very well received, having to give three items. They were "O Flower Divine," "There's Only One England," and "Tho Night Nursery." Mr. Edwin Dennis gave a fine performance, ■ and had to respond to two extra numbers which'were "A Song of Thanksgiving," "A Warwickshire Wooiiif,'' and "Don't Want to Know." Mr. Barrett was in fine form, and after giving his first item on the clarinet, "Polonaise," he had to respond with the saxophone to insistent recalls, and gave "Saxanola," and "Saxarclla." The band, under the baton .of Mr. T. Goodall, was In good form, and gave a very good performance of the following items:—"Hymn, "Bradford" ; overture, "Zampa," "fantasia, "Songs of Merrie England"; patrol, "With Kilt and Sporran" ; and the march "Le Guard Marine." • Mr. J. Haydock was at the piano.
