PICTURES ON SUNDAY
PROSECUTION FAILS (By '.Telegraph.—Press Association.) GRKYMOUTIf, This Day. Arthur Bebau, manager of the Greymouth Pictures, was charged with conducting Sunday pictures, and several officials of the Greymouth Bath Committee were charged with assisting. Fvidencc was given that Beban leased the hall to the Bath Committee for a Sunday evening at a charge of £8, the committee making its own arrangements for staff, etc. Mr. Hannan, solicitor for the defence, quoted the English Sunday Observance Act of 1780 to the effect that tho owner or IcsseVwho let a hall to others could not be held liable. The Magistrate upheld tiiis contention, and dismissed all the charges. It was stated in evidence that Sunclay pictures, in the past three years, hail net led tho Bath Committee over £700. - '
