FORD TAXATION CASE
DEFEAT' FOR GOVERNMENT ' .Australian Tress Association. ! WASHINGTON, sth May. Efforts on the part of the Treasury Department to recover about 30,000,000 dollars in additional taxation, from former stockholders in tho Ford Motor Company has ended in defeat for the Government. Tho Board of Tax Appeals ruled that tho stockholders had paid all they owed, and should, in. fact, receive a refund of an amount which is unofficially estimated at a million dollars. Chief interest centres around Senator Souzons, from whom tho Gov- | eminent claimed 10,000,000 dollars, and I who will now receive 500,000 dollars. A romantic aspect of the case lies in tho fact that Couzens, in 1905, bought 44,000 dollars' worth of Ford stock for 2400 dollars, and later sold tho same for 29,000,000 dollars. ■
