COLONIAL INSTITUTE
• MOVE FOR CHANGE OF NAME The Royal Colonial Institute celebrates its diamond jubilee this year, and it is not unlikely that the occasion may be marked by a change in its title. Many of tho fellows are in favour of the title, "Tho Royal Empire Society," in view of tho fact that since its inception so many of the former colonies have been raised to Dominion status. The institute was originally the Royal Colonial Society. The secretary (Sir G. M. Boughey) states that the council considered more than thirty suggested titles boforo deciding on "The Royal Empire Society." No further suggestions arc likely to be accepted for consideration so that whether tho proposed chango will be made will stand or fall upon tho wishes of the fellows in regard to the name now recommended to them. In a late issue of the magazine of the institute a voting paper was enclosed, thus giving fellows the opportunity of acceptanco or rejection of the name submitted. The matter will be referred to at tho next annual meeting, in a few months' time.
