WELLINGTON TRAMWAY BAND.

Although tho weather was anything but favourable. His Majesty's Theatre was packed to the doors last night on the occasion of the Tramways Band second recital. The concert was of a very high standard, and each item was well received. Messrs. Berthoid and Bent, with their quaint Hawaiian melodies, received a One reception, and had to respond with two encores. . Their items were "Among My Souvenirs," "Honolulu , Moon," and "Uecauso I Love You." Mrs. Wilfred Andrews was in lino form, and also received a flattering ovation. Sho liml to respond to Iwo encores. Her items were "There's a Land," "I Did Not Know," and "Danny Boy." Miss Mary Cooley gave, one of her fino displays in "Lorraine. Lorraine, l.orree," and had to respond twice wilh "Young Fellow Mo Lad" and "Anyone." Madame Winnie Fraser was heard at her best in lier song "Thine Only," and received a fine ovalion, singing for her recalls "The Chorister" and "Sinllln* Through." Mr. J. M. Caldwell was ill good voice, and Ms reception required two extra songs. Ho sang "The Yeoman's Wedding Song " "Sailor's Paradise," and "l'rido of Tipperary." The band was in good form and also came in for a good reception, having to repeat tho "Uritish Patrol." The items wore hymn, "Eternal Father"; overture, "The King's Lieutenant"; selection, "Musical Snapshots"; sintl march, "Maulilnc Gun Guards." Mr. J. Haydock played the piano accompaniments. The concert was a great success.
