JOHNSONVILLE v. PORIRUA.
In a hard game at Porirua before a good crowd, the Porirua team suffered defeat at the hands of Johnsonville. The first spell gave Porirua many opportunities, but lack of initiative and variety on attack prevented them scoring.' Following a passing rush which nearly brought a score, Ohaney secured the ball from the line-out, and dropped a good goal from the ruck. Johnsonville 4, Porirua 0. There was no further scoring in the first spell, although towards the end Johnsonvillo went very close to scoring, with Neal showing up in good style. Johnsonville had the better of matters in the second half, and despite Porirua's spoiling tactics the score mounted. Chancy scored after a passing rush, but Myers failed to goal. Johnsonville 7, Porirua 0. Then Parsloe gathered in the ball from a rebound in his own twentyfive and broke away. He out-ran the opposition, and, beating the full-back, scored behind the posts. A. W. Moore converted the try. Neal added the next try. Receiving the ball from a line-out, he scored near the posts. Moore again converted, making the final score—Johusonville 17, Porirua 0.
