S. S. Kyle, whose nUituili! in support of tho bare majority when the Licensing Amendment Bill was before the House of Representatives last session has been criticised a good -deal by Reform supporters opposed to Prohibition. It is not alleged that Mr. Kyle has broken any of the pledges that lie gave at the last; flection, but (hose now actively opposing him declare that they diifnot know that he had pledged himself to support the bare majority. The "Lyttellon Times" states that Mr. Kyle has made it clear that-lie will bo tho Reform candidate for Riccarton at tho coming election against allcomers, and that he has no intention of modifying his attitude on the licensing question, 110 considers that his position i.i quite securo, despite the opposition of the malcontents.
