The Otahuhu Meeting will be opened on Saturday at Alexandra Park. Those who saw Talaro race- at Addington would not back anything to beat him in the Jellicoe Handicap. The shortage of space on the ferry steamers threatened the success of the Nelson Meeting on Friday and Saturday, for no Canterbury horses would have been available. A special steamer was chartered, and left Lyttelton for Nelson direct on Monday, carrying all the Canterbury horaes engaged at the meeting. As soon .as the Otahuhu Meeting is ■ over S. August will remove to his new , stables at Mangere. He .has a team of ' a dozen,'"and will work them on the private track of A. Hazelman; at Onehunga. The .removal of the team will take a lot of the life out of the proceedings at Epsom, as August is one of the few who believe in sending their horses along in training, says the Auckland "Star." It seems to pay, because '. they* get ;lhe : money.. ■■':■■ Fifty-four- owners secured a share of the prize-money at the New Zealand JMetrbyblitaif Trotting Club's Meeting. "The Wellingtonian, Mr. J.
