CHANCE OF DEFEAT
MR. ;maCDONALD'S PLANS.
LONDON, 2nd October. - A lobby correspondent says it is now strongly believed that the Government will be defeated on the Conservative vote of censure regarding the withdrawal of the criminal proceedings against the editor of- • the "Workers' Weekly," and that a General Election will follow. Nevertheless, in the event of the Government's defeat, all parties will probably agree to pass the Irish Bill.
It is believed that Mr. Mac Donald will not resign, but political opinion is emphatic that he will appeal to the country on Labour's handling of foreign affairs, and on a programme relating %o domestic matters.
