WELLINGTON OLUB. '
Mr. A. Fair presided over the annual meeting of the Wellington Tennis Club on Thursday. ' . * The treasurer reported a surplus on the year of £76 As 7d, but pointed out that £100 had to be added to the club's mortgage to enable extensive repairs to fences and courts to be carried out. There should be a surplus this year of £75. A reduction in rates of £16 had been obtained on a revaluation classifying the proparty as a sports ground. Bepairs recently had cost £30, and £70, to be spread over ten years had been spent on bitumen top-dressing, calculated to last ten years. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £107- 4s. The opening day was fixed tentatively for 11th October.
