The secretary of the Tennis Association, referring to a rumour that Hawkes will be sent direct to America to play for the Davis Cup, said . that it was highly improbable that any other player would be sent abroad to replace O'Hara Wood. He saw no reason why Anderson and Patterson should not represent Australia in both singles and doubles. Wertheim was now in America, and would be available if required. LONDON, 15th July. In the Davis Cup doubles matches; between India and Spain, A. A. Fyzee and Ramaswami beat Degomar and Plaquer, 3-6, 7-5, 11-9, 8-10, 6-4. (Received July 17, 8 a.m.) NEW YORK, 16th July. The British Lawn Tennis Association has asked the "United States Tennis Association to change the dates of the final round for the Davis Cup, from 17th, 18th and 19fch August to,the following week. A reply has been sent that the change is acceptable if, Australasia and France do not object. '
