'■-
Commenting upon this case, Dr. Mond, District Health Officer, said tho patient had an attack of mild influenza, and, against the advice of hk relatives and his doctor, got up and returned to his work WithiD a few hours ho presented all tho symptoms unfortunately so well known since November of last year, and he had only just managed to1-escape the sad penalty that befell so many last year. "From this fact," said Dr. Mond, "the general public should not deceive themselves that influenza is no longer with us, but should continue to treat mild cases as they learned to do during last year's epidemic.'1 Dr. Mond made it quite'clear that nothing had occurred to cause.alarm, tho case ho had mentioned being the first for a long timo to show symptoms of the epidemio type, but it was advisable for the people to take extra, care during November and December, when sunshine tempted people to discard warm' clothing, although chilly breezes were often experienced.
