The Metropolitan Trotting Club's Meeting opened to-day in fine weather. There is a large attendance. Results: — Spring Handicap (in saddle), of 250 soys; one milo and five furlongs.— Mushroom, ssec; 1; Miss Salisbury, 6sec, 2 ; Colonel Havelock, 7sec, 3. Scratched : Grattan Abbey and Lovebird. Won by a neck. Time, omin 57 l-ssec. Empire Handicap (saddle), of 250 soys; two miles.—Schnapps, ssec, 1; Dillon Eddy, 6sec, 2; Will o' the Wisp, Bsec, 3. All started. Won by two lengths. Time, tain 42sec.
