MEETING, OF THE MANAGEMENT
COMMITTEE,
Members of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby. Union met last evening. Mr. D. D. Weir was in the chair.
The City Council wrote informing the union that it "could not enter into a lease for the I>yali Bay ground, but it ■would be prebirofl to reduce the charge for the season to £2 2s per ground. ; A'member of the' Athletic team-was suspended for four playing Saturdays for striking an opponent.. For expressing a desire to fight the referee, another member of the team was suspended until the end of 1919 season.
A member of a Petone team was suspended until the end of June, 1919, for using bad language. The' remainder of the team, who left the field 1 in sympathy with their captain recently, also appeared before'the union to explain their behaviour. It was decided to suspend the team for the remainder of this season, and for three playing Saturdays in the 1919 season.
