.ATTACK BY AEROPLANES.
Tho following cable message was published in Sydney papers on the 12th: —
A semi-official report from Berlin states:—A German air squadron observed the •submarine 025 in the Thames estuary. They attacked and killed the crow on the deck with machine-gunfire until only the commander was left alive. The commander kept firing with a rifle for 25 minutes against the airmen until he also was killed. The airmen having •exhausted the bombs retired.
A second squadron of German aviators arrived while the Csl was towing the C 25. They attacked the submarines, hitting the Csl twice. The C 25 was observed to sink. The Csl was towed to port
