SHAKESPEARE TERCENTENARY
Shakespeare's memory, especially his tercentenary, is not to be allowed to fade in Wellington A meeting' of students of the -bard and others, represent: ed by tho Shakespearian Tercentenary Committee, met last week. Mr. ■!■ M. Clark being in" the chair. It was then decided to hold a three days' Shakespeare Festival beginning on 3rd May. On the second night special concessions will be offered to schools. A pageant introducing prominent Shakespearian characters will be arranged. It was resolved to approach ministers ,of various churches to ask them to hold Shakespeare memorial services on lines similar to those to be held in England, including a 'service to be held at Westminster Abbey, which the King and Queen will attend in state. AH surplus profits will be devoted to Red Cross purposes.
