The committee of the Timber Yard Employees' Union discussed the threatened dismissal of single employees, and resolved to fight the matter to a finish. Reuters Paris correspondent states that a wounded officer, referring to the taking prisoner of three thousand Germans, remarked : "We killed thrice that number." Another declared that many Germans on surrendering now fall on their knees and beg for mercy and pardon. The officers act similarly. -
