MANUFACTURE OF SMALL ARMS
BELOW ESTIMATE IN AUSTRALIA. (Received May 13. 10.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Commenting on the pioposal to send munitions and mechanics to England, Senator Millen stated that the output of the small arms factory was disappointingly below the estimates. The men were only working one shift, with overtime. Instead of sending men to England, more could be advantageously employed here in th? formation of a second shift, and speeding up the output.
