WEDNESDAY COMPETITION. The Wednesday hockey competition was continued yesterday afternoon un* del' favourable conditions. ' Pakeha.met Hcreawa at Karori. and s, first-elpss battle ensued. Pakeha. eventually won by five goals to three, after come vevy lively hockey,' in which lionours were evehly divided. The. first epell ended with Horeawa in tho lesd. Their goals were got by Bree and Kueh, and another went into the net off an opponent's pad. Lewer and Robertson each scored for Pakeha. Pakeha, did most of the attacking in the second spell, Letter and Robinson adding to their tally of goaJs. Mr. F. M'Keewr was referee. The Petoiie-Ramblerß game waa aotne> what of a. scramble, in which tho sub urban team finally came out on top with the scores 2—l. Cavell scored both goals for Petone. while a Petone player hit an accident*) goal for Ramblei*. Petone had a hard fight for victory. The referee waa Mr. G. Empson.
