On Saturday night the Hawkes Bay Tribune stated its intention of opening a Belgian relief fund, and this evening it has the satisfaction of being able to announce that the first day's subscriptions total £724. The sympathies of ull must have been closely touched by what they have read from 'day to day of the cruelties and wrongs inflicted by Belgium's powerful .neighbour, contemptuous of treaty obligations and confident in the might of the sword.
