HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL
Tha monthly meeting 1 of the Hutt County Council wbb held to-doy. There were present — Councillors Wakoham (chairman), Welch, Edwards, Howell, Galloway, and Whiteman. The Inspector of Works (Mr. J. W. Cudby) t recommended the removal of the foot-bridge over tho WJiuremuku btrnani at Paraparauruu and the strengthening of the north-western span of the bridge nflHf Price's old sawmill at Aknturawa. He reported that Mr. M. J. Lynch had mJul* aa offer to purchase a portion of fche ' reserve adjoining iiia property at. ParaparaurnU. The report was adopted. Mr. A. Woottou was appointed county ranger. Me. E. P. Bunny waited on tho council oa behalf of Mr. Eric Biddiford. and asked for the extension of the Orongo-rongp-road. The chairman told Ah. Bunny that the road was an expensive one 'to maintain. The council vas awaiting a reply from the Government to SO application for a grant iv aid. (Proceeding.) , ■ i
