BOXING CONTEST
Patrons of boxing are promised something good in the contest between Burns and Hagerty at the Opera House on Monday next, when the latter will defend his championship title against the Australian, who is regarded as one of the most attractive exponents at present in Australia. In his career as a professional Burns has lost but two contests, and those to the two hardest men to defeat at that time. Since his ariival here his training bouts have been watched by a large number of enthusiasts, who speak in high terms of his cleverness. The box plan will open on Thursday morning, and the officials report that already numerous applications have been made for scats from country patrons.
The death occurred on Sunday of a well-known Kilbirnie resident, in the person of Mr. Robert Rollison. For some time past he did not enjoy good health, but his death occurred quite unexpectedly, although -he had reached the advanced age of eighty-two. He is survived by one daughter, Mis.
