FEDERATION OF LABOUR
THIS WEEK'S CONFERENCE. The Federation of Labour Conference will be held in Wellington, commencing next Thursday. Mr. P. C. Webb will preside. Consideration will be given to remit* from various unions (already published for the most part in the Evening Post). There are seventy veinils. The conference will be waited on by deputations from the Socialist Party and the United Labour Party. A strong appeal will be made for tha appointment of more paid organisers for the Federation; the definition of th© duties of officers and organisers; also that no time specified agreements be made with employers or their representatives ; the handing over of the question, of politics to the Socialist Party, which shall be regarded as giving "expression to the industrial intelligence" ; and matters principally relating to the various industries linked up with the Federation. The preliminaries of the conference, which opens on Thursday, are under discussion to-day. The delegates, appointed are as follow :—: — President, Mr. P. C. Webb ; organiser, Mr. B.
