A detachment of B Squadron »f the Gth Manawatu Mounted Rifles left on Saturday for Foxton to make arrangements for the camp commencing on Wediiebday. The local men" assemble on Wednesday morning, and march to Foxton, picking up the members of the squadron at Jackeytown and Rangiotu en route. The necessity of gazetting regulations for the accommodation of flaxmill hands is being urged upon the Minister for Labour by the local branch of the United Labour Party, consequent upon an outbreak of typhoid at one of the mills in this district. Territorials, Mounted Rifles, and Senior Cadete mustered to the number of 205, exclusive of nineteen officers; and attended church service at All Saints' Church yesterday afternoon in honour of Empire Day. Colonel Chaytor, Captain Bosworth, Colonel Pringle, and Adjutant Powke were on parade. The Rev. Mr. Kosher, chaplain, conducted the service.
