SWIFTS SWIMMING CLUB.

'ANNUAL MEETING. The thirteenth annual meeting of the Swifts Swimming Club was held in the Trocadero last evening. " Mr. E. J. Flemming occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The annual report and balance-sheet, a precis of which has already appeared in The Post, were unanimously adopted. The chairman congratulated the club on the "very satisfactory report." Several new members were elected to the club. The officers for the coming season are as follow :— President, Mr. C. P. Skerrett, K.C. j vice-presidents, Messrs. J. G. W. Aitken, W. Skegg, Martin Chapman, K.C., J. A. Tripe, J. P. Maxwell, C. Smith, W. Smith; captain, Mr. F. Wilton; vice-captain, Mr. E. E. Jenkinson; hon. secretary, Mr. E. S. Forne; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. S. Martin; auditor, Mr. I. J. Courtney; handicappers, I Messrs. F. Wilton and W. Watt; delegates to Wellington Centre N.Z.A.S.A., Messrs. E. S. Forne and W. T. Willmot; committee, Messrs, P. Wilton, A. H. Stevenson, G. R. Patterson, H. Jenkmson, H. ,T. Johnston; starter and timekeeper, Mr. E. J. Flemming: checkstarter, Mr. H. A. Lamb. . In the discussion which ensued Mr. Willmot thought it would be a good idea to have permanent goal-posts at the baths, in order that players might be able to have more practice than is now the case. He thought it should be an instruction to the committee to see what could be don<s Mr. Wilton reminded members that such a matter, wherein it would be necessary to approach the council, would have to go through the centre's com- . mittee.
