PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL TOUR.

THE TEAM FOR AUCKLAND. Arrangements are completed for the tonr of a team of Wellington footballers to Auckland, to play a match there, under Northern Rugby Union rules, against thirteen men representative of Auckland. Mr. Dan Eraser, organis-. ing secretary of the professional football movement, announces that the following is the team : — Full, G. Spencer ; three-quarters, Tyne (or King), Lnstone, . Twohill; five-eights, J. Barber, A. House; half, A. Kelly ; forwards, — Wright, — Pearce, 0. Byrne, J. Spencer, D. Gilchrist, P. McGill. The team leaves on Thursday morning for Auckland and will play, on Saturday next, against a thirteen which will consist of nine of the team which toured England as the New Zealand professionals ; also four well-known local players. After playing the match the Wellington team will leave Auckland for home on Sunday next, and will be in Wellington on Monday nipht. It is probable that a game will be played in Petone % some ' day nest week, against a team of Wellington professionals. The proceeds of this match will be devoted to* organising the Northern Union game r.txt year. Mr. Fraser, while making it clear that the team lo* Auckland is a professional one, which will share individually the proceeds of the match, states that the primary object of the tour is to introduce and popularise Northern Union Rugby. ;
