CHARGE OF MURDER.
ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. [BT TELECBArH. — rBESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. Wiliiam Stuart has been committed for trial at Helensville, on a charge of having murdered Edward West at Kaukapakapa by striking him on the head with an axe. Detective Marsack, in his evidence, stated that accused had frankly admitted having killed West, and appeared to lay stress on the language used by doc?ased concerning his mother. Witness, on visiting the gamp occupied by Stuait and West, found two or three dozen' empty spirit bottles, and six large and three small beer bottles. , The place appeared to have been the sceno of a recent carousal. , Accused, who reserved his defence was ! committed for ""trial at Auckland.
