A tailor w<is brought before the Magistrate's Court to-day on^ a charge of professing to carry on business under special appointment to the^ Governor without warrant, which, under the Act of last session, is now an offence. Defendant displayed a sign with the Royal Aims and words "TJnfler special appointment to His Excellency tho Governor." A conviction was recorded, ai.'d defendant discharged.
