Wool Sales — A lack of animation characterised the Antwerp sales, Merino, compared with Novomber sales, shoeing asto 8 per cent, deciino. Crossbreds were neglected. Three thousand fivo hundred and fifty bales of La Plata offered and 1554 sold. Jt MELBOURNE HIDE SALES. j MELBOURNE, 16th January. The, market for heavy and medium hides ia firmer. Others are unchanged. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., j held their- Pahautanui sale yesterday A heavy yarding of shoep came forward, ! but owing to the continued dry weather the bidding was slow. The bulk of the entries \uro sold at tho following prices: — Two and four-toothed wethers, at 11s 9d to 12s 9d ; small wothers, lla to 11s ! 3d ; full-mouthed ewes, 8s 6d to 9s; 4 and 6-tooth ewes, 9s lid ; yearling and eighteen-month steers, £2 5s to £2 7s 6d ; , aged covi'S, up to £2; black-faced rams, i l£gs; Lincoln rams, llgs; porkers (slips), 9s to 15s.
