The Exhibition officials here f>tate that some uiisundei'Standing has 'been caused by the publication 'of the receipts and 'expenditure in conneciion with the Internationa' Exhibition. The tables telegraphed from Wellngton, and. published in Chiistchurch oewspapei's yesterday morning, show that tho total expenditure- amounted to £239,970, and it is stated that the loss made good by the Government was £87,61 Y. In tho items under tho heading "expenditure," however, there is a sum of £27.117 representing refunds made tv the Government. 'Those refunds v;qic m:u.le in consequence of (ho manner in which the •accounts were kept. At first all tip accounts had to bt, dealt with in Wellington, and they were- paid by the Government. It brings the toial 'advance to £77,800, which tho officials state- is the sum New Zealand has hnd to pay for its International Exh - bitjon.
