AUCKLAND, 25th November The first wool sale of the season, under the suspioes of the Auckland Woolbrokers 7 Association, will be held to-morrow.' Messrs. Baddaad will- offer & total of 1400 bales,Messrs. Binney 434 bales, The Auckland Tanners* Union 320 bales,- Messrs. Kings--sreU and Company 104 bales. The, Loan and Mercantile Company's catalogue will not be finally made up till to-morrow. Tie quality of the wool co far opened, is, of good standard, the fleeces being- much lighter in grease this year than last, LONDON MARKETS. - HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. . The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated Loudoi^ 23rd November, l£o7 :— '1^« mutton market is quiet, bu^ holders are ith. There is a better demand for mutto for forward delivery, and general confided -e in tha maintenance of present prioee. Canterbury mutton is quoted at 3gd ( and N<rth Island at 3|d per lb. The lamb narket is a- shade- weaker, and demand is fating off.^ Canterbury lamb is quoted at 51d, and other than Canterbury at s|d per lb. . The beef market is quiet -but rather steadier. Hindqtjartere are quoted at 3id, foreqaarters at 2|d per lb. ~~ , The butter market is firm, with improved demand, and a good enquiry ia expeoted until Christmaß. Choicest New Zealand butter is quoted at 18s, Australian H7a, Argentine 118s, Danisi 1225, Siberian 1103 per cwt. The cheese market i- quiet, with a tendency in favour of -uyers. Canadian manufacture is quoted .^ 62s per cwt. The hemp market is lather unsettled on account of Manila offer ng freely at lower prices. Good fair g)*de; on spot, is quoted at £29 10s, fair trade £28 10s, fair current Manila £30. B'ctober-December shipments are quoted is follows: — Good fair grade £28 10s, fair giade, £27 10s, fair current Manila £29, and January to March shipments are quoted at £28 for good fair grade, £27 for fair grade, and £28 10s for fair current Manila per '.on. The cocksfoot market s quiet, but holders are* firm. There aia light stocks . on hand and no pressure to cell. Bright clean 171b seed is quoted at 75s per cwt.
