DREDGE DAMAGED BY FIRE.
_B- TOUSSBAra.— PSSB9 ASSOCIATION 1 GORE, 25th November. - The Waimumu Venture dredge > was partially destroyed" by fire last nighty When iirst observed ths flamefi ■ had a good hold, but the dredge was scuttled and sunk in several f cef of writer ,' thus extinguishing the-fire. The pontoon;*' and woodwork were a good deal damaged, 'but .the machinery is not milch' aCeitcd. The' dredge was- imhlsured. It was privately owned, and was obtaining'good returns. Dredging . will be interrupted for some weeks until the machine is refloated and repaired.
