A disturbance near the Terminus Hotel on Monday afternoon last, in the presence of about 500 people, was investigated by Mr. Kiddell, S.M., to-day, Daniel Norris and Ernest Power we're charged with assaulting William Murray, who bore signs of rough handling. An independent witness, 3iuno,s O'Keefe. testified that all the fighting Murray did was to run 'away. Constable Stuart slated that the crowd was caliin^ out that the man was being murdered. Murray was in a frightful state. Evidence of the accused, for whom Mr. Jackson appeared, was that, the whole affair was a fair fight. Both men h,id previous convictions against them.
