EDUCATION BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Wellington Education Board was held yesterday. Present : — Messrs. KubeitLee (chairman), A. H. Vile, J. Kebbeli, Capt. T. W. M'Donald, A. W. Hogg, M.H.R., W. Allan, W. il. Field, M.H.R. The statement of finances showed a credit balance on building and general accounts of £-591 19s 9d, and a credit balance on Technical. Manual and Technical Teachers' salaries and secondary accounts together of £50-? XQs lid, Making a total credit balance of £886 19s Bd, as compared with £515 0s lOd befoie the last monthly meeting. The" statement ! was adopted. A pay-sheet of £6992 7s 6d was passed. Contract liabilities amounted to £6556 ISs 3d. It was decided unanimously that the payment of salaries through the Post Office was at present inadvisable.' j The recommendations of the Works and Finance Committee were adopted in re-/ gard to minor repairs and improvements at the Mitfhelltown, Korokoro, Dalefield, Fcrnridge, Wainui-o-mata, Kereru, G ley town, Biooklyn, Eastern Hutt, and j Upper Ilutl.
