Mr. Mur« docb, in his Presidential address, dealt with the Scottish Churches' dispute He claimed that the action of the Statd in the matter was an interference with the liberty of tho Church, and ho urged the Church in Australia to be on its guard, The safety of the Church would, he said, have been better assured if their liberty had been protected by a clause in the. basis of the Union, declaring the Church the sole judge of the conformity of her secondary standard with the Word of God. It appeared to bo worth considering whether something could not jet bo done to repair the omission.
