LONDON MARKETS. [PKESS ASSOCIATION.] LONDON, 20fch September. At the tallow sales 1111 casks were offered and 169 sold. Mutton, fine 30s 9d, medium 27s 6d. Beef, fine 28s, medium 265. Copper— On the spot,' £68 12s 6d to £68 17s 6d ; three months, £68 10s to £68 15s. Lead, £13 15a to £13 16s 9d. The American visible Bupply of wheat is 21,529,000 bushels. WOOL SALES ANIMATED. (Received September 21, 9.56 a.m.) LONDON, 20th September. At the wool sales 9051 bales were offered. There was a poor selection of merinos, and excellent crossbreds. There was a crowded attendance from all parts. The sale was extremely animated. Compared with closing prices of the July series, merinos wero 5 per cent., and all crossbreds 5 to 7£ per cent, higher. SYDNEY SALES. SYDNEY, 20th September. At the wool sale 3 to-day there was animated demand for all attractive parcels, the market being stimulated by the advanced prices ruling in London. Better classes may be quoted at about 5 per cent, above the rates ruling at the opening sales a fortnight ago. BDRNSIDE MARKET. DUNEDIN, 20th September. At Burusido market 251 fat cattle were yarded, the ijreater portion medium quality steers and heifers, with an odd pen of prime. The yarding' proved excessive, and there was a fall of 10s to 15s per head, most noticeable in medium. Best bullocks £9 to £11, good £7 10s to £8 15s, medium and light £6 to £7 ss; best heifers £6 10s to £8, good £5 to £6 ss, medium and light £3 15s to £4 7s 6d Fat Sheep.— Over 3000 penned ; good to prime wethers, with a few pens extra prime ewes. The large yarding and the absence of export demand resulted in a fall of 2s to 2s 6d per head at the start, but pnce9 improved towards the close Best wethers 24s to 26s 6d, extra up to 27s 6d, good 21s to 235, others up to 20s • best ewes 22s to 24s 9d, others up to 20s. Fat Lambs. — There were only eight penned, the first of the season, and they sow under keen competition at 23s 6d. , f |SS 5 -— Two hundred yarded.
