[BY TBLEORAI'H. — rRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A movement being on foot to close tho Addington saleyards and remove the cattle market to Sockburn, away from the •vicinity of Christchurch City altogether, a large number of signatures of 'farmers, butchers, auctioneers, graziers, and dealers, have been attached to a petition to the Chairman and directors of the Canterbury Saleyards Company, asking that every effort be made to continue the businers on the piesent site. Tho petition points out that the present site is the most convenient for all concerned, and asks the company to take immediate step.* to open up a direct road to the Sockburn Abattoir
