HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The House -continued its silting yester•day afternoon. COAL MINES. The Coal Mines Act Amendment Bill waa brought down by Governor's Message und read a, fiiv>t time. - Mr. Ell asked leave to introduce the Eating ( on Unimproved Value Act 1896 ! Amendment Bill to replace the Bill which I was "counted out" op Thursday last. Mr. T. Mackenzie called for a division, and the leave to introduce was given by j39 to 21. The Bill was then, read a first time. Tho following Bills were read a first time : — Wallace Hospital District (Mr. J. C. Thomson), Slaughtering and Inspection Act Amendment, Apiaries, Seeds Examination (Hon. Mr. Duncan), Shipping and Seamen Act Amendment (Hon. W. Hall-Jones). Tho remainder of the afternoon was occupied in discussing answers given by Ministers to questions on the Order Paper. BIBLE IN SCHOOLS. At tho evening sitting tho Bible .in Schools Plebiscite Bill was debated, The House rose at 1.5 a.m.
